Mayor's Round-Up and Sale of Champions

Next Mayor's Round-up & Sale of Champions: Jan. 24-28, 2012

As part of the annual Sioux Empire Farm Show, business and community leaders from the region gather for a social evening including dinner, live music and a program and auction at the Mayor’s Round-up & Sale of Champions.

Highlights include the presentation of the Supreme Row winners, the $12,000 purse split between the consignors and the buyers of the Supreme Champion bull and heifer over all breeds. The Supreme Row is sponsored by the Tri-State Neighbor (gold), Wells Fargo Bank, South Dakota, N.A. (silver) and Campbell Supply Co. (bronze). The winning consignors receive $3,500 and $2,500 will go to the buyers of the Supreme Champion Bull and Heifer. One lucky winner out of the 14 exhibitors sitting on Supreme Row has the opportunity to win a one-year lease of a Featherlite trailer, will be provided by Featherlite Trailers and Iverson Trailers from Mitchell, S.D.

The evening also includes the Sale of Champions, where the top five market lambs, the top 10 market swine, the top five market beef and top two market goats are sold at an auction. It’s a fun, competitive auction amongst the Sioux Falls area business community and provides them a way to “give back” to those who work in agriculture. Premiums paid out generally top $45,000 and are paid directly to the exhibitors attending from all over U.S.
